The Theme – Gothic Era – the subculture

Thomso’14 shall mark the resurrection of the ‘Devil’ emerging like a Phoenix rising up from ashes of murdered passion and burnt desires. His roots intervene with those of IIT Roorkee deeply seated in the English Era – which nourished the sapling of our institute to reap what it is today. With the testimony of time, English era was marked by passage of ‘Gothic’ subculture, making us proudly reluctant to choose ‘Gothic Era – its subculture’ as the theme of this year. We invite you to hear the ‘devil’s symphony’ which has already impressed the primitives by the journey of time.

Our devil is not evil. He is the demon, the demon within us, shedding all the masquerades of tradition, unleashing the deepest fire, revealing itself.

Having said that, we are overwhelmed by your response to our motion teaser, so much that it ended being into fits of laughter. But well, we are glad we could draw smiles to your faces. Let me explain, what the motion poster was about. The Lion has always been symbolic to our institute and interwoven in our culture. The dragon entices you, on a fire of endeavor that’s unusual, tempting and sinisterly beautiful, to evolve from, tragedy to drama, tune to melody, hustle to jitter and custom to craze.

This year, lend your ear to the slowest murmurs within and release them most anguished yells.

Let your imagination elaborate on a vivid space, sweetly penetrating into a thousand hearts, casting a spell on each.

Let Thomso be the string, knitting broken fragments of forgotten dreams together in a lyrical harmony. Let Thomso be the spark, igniting devils of immense passion, slowly guiding them from the abyss of your soul to surface.

Let me inform you, do not skip our next blog, we have some insights and some good news coming in store for you. Stay tuned!
